SC1000
DATA RECORDER

For
the past decade the SC1000 was considered the recorder of choice for most
battery ignition applications. With the advent of the V series of recorders
the use of the SC1000 has been narrowed.
Today it is applied mostly to applications such as our blown fuel motorcycle
customers. This is due in part to its compact size combined with its legendary
reliability in high vibration environments.
In
standard form the SC1000 includes one engine RPM channel (pickup and cable
included), a driveshaft channel (driveshaft RPM sensor kit included), one
digital event channel (for switch events), and four analog channels (transducer
box and transducers must be purchased separately). It also includes an internally
mounted battery voltage sensor.
The
SC1000 can be upgraded to accept eight exhaust gas temperatures, a third RPM
channel (usually clutch), four more analog channels (for a total of eight),
and an internally mounted G-meter (accelerometer).
Data
collected by the SC1000 can be viewed in a variety of manners. The first option
is the digital display window that is located in the top of the recorder.
This will display single channel information as it is being recorded. This
recorder also has the ability to print its recorded data directly to a dot
matrix printer. The final, and most popular option is to upload
the recorded data to a PC or laptop using Racepak’s DataLink Standard data
analysis software. This can be accomplished via either serial cable or data
cartridge.
Sampling
rates for the SC1000 are set at 40 times per second, and the recorder provides
up to 50 seconds of recording time. Dimensions are 1.585” high x 4.750” long
x 4.275” wide.
