TACH PRO RECORDING GAUGE
When
it comes to data recorders in a small package, this little jewel steals all
the glory. Disguised as a simple gauge, the Hot Tach Pro performs data acquisition
functions just like the big guys, while still operating as a multi-function
display gauge. All monitored functions can be viewed in real time by scrolling
through the channels on the gauge’s display screen.
The
standard Hot Tach Pro features two RPM channels and four thermocouple channels,
but it can also be ordered in two other configurations that offer a mixture
of thermocouple and analog channels. The exhaust gas thermocouples and the
analog sensors must be purchased separate of the gauge.
The
second RPM channel can be used for monitoring drive shaft or jackshaft RPM
by purchasing the Second RPM Kit. All channels feature a warning level that
will flash an alarm light if any channel exceeds its programmable limit. Recording
times for playback can vary from 5 1/2 minutes to 18 hours depending on which
of the 12 sample rate options you choose, and it has a pause feature which
prevents it from collecting data when the engine is below a programmable RPM
level. Sample rates up to 40 times per second are user programmable. The Hot
Tach Pro requires 12 volt DC power and is backlit for nighttime operation.
By
purchasing the optional Download Kit, which includes the fiber optic adapter
and DataLink Lite software, you can transfer all recorded information to a
PC or laptop for data analysis. The DataLink Lite displays the information
in the same graph and numeric format as used by professional crew chiefs in
many forms of racing.
