INTELLI-GAUGES

If
you have familiarized yourself with Racepak’s V-Net technology and systems,
then you are probably already aware of the Intelli-Gauges. If you haven’t
looked at the V-Net section of this site yet, then we suggest you do so. It
will add greatly to your understanding of how these gauges work, and all the
great things that you can do with them.
Intelli-Gauges
are not your average gauge. They contain features that place them head and
shoulders above the standard analog or electric gauges that you have been
accustomed to using. These features aren’t just gimmicks, they are capabilities
that are intended to make these gauges a more useful component of your electronics
system.
As
an integral component of the V-Net the Intelli-Gauges work in conjunction
with other V-Net hardware. They operate using signals from sensors already
on the V-net cable, or they can be equipped with their own sensor. As a part
of the V-net they utilize the V50 Download/ Replay module and Keypad to perform
some of their functions, or rely on the DataLink software when downloaded
to a PC for programming tasks.
Follow
along as we introduce you to this amazing new line of Intelli-Gauges.
Intelligent
Gauges
In
addition to being highly accurate and providing real time display of your
monitored system, the Intelli-Gauges can also perform recall, playback, and
warning function. The playback can be in the form of real time, fast forward,
fast backward, step forward, step backward, or just the recall of the minimum
or maximum values that were attained during the recording period. Intelli-Gauges
can also be programmed to alert you when a monitored function exceeds its
limit. This alarm can be the flashing of the gauge’s digital display or a
remote light.
Display
On A PC Screen
When
used with a V50 Download/Playback module, or any of the V series data recorders,
the information gathered on these gauges can also be displayed on your computer
screen. This can be done in either real time (up to ten gauges and graphs
can be viewed), or all functions can be viewed from recorded data. The real
time viewing is presented on a screen that resembles those found on dynamometer
control panels. Recorded data is viewed using the same Racepak graph and numeric
format used by professional crew chiefs.
Analog
& Digital Display
They
say you can never have too much information, so we have provided you with
both a 270° sweep hand dial and a digital display on the Intelli-Gauges. To
further enhance the readability the increment marks have been compressed at
the upper and lower ends of the scale, allowing them to be spread apart in
the prime operating range. All gauges are scaled so the dial will be pointing
straight up when displaying the average reading for the gauge type.
Each gauge model is available with either a white or black dial face.
Easy
Installation
Intelli-Gauges
will fit into the same 2 5/8” diameter holes as other common gauges. But that
is about all they share with other gauges. Installing one of these gauges
is as easy as plugging in a toaster. If your V-Net system already contains
a sensor for the function your wish to display, all you need to do is plug
the gauge’s module onto the main V-Net cable. The installation is complete.
If no sensor exists, and one must be added, simply install the appropriate
sensor and plug it’s module into the cable also. That is all there is to it.
Race
Car Construction
Don’t
expect to see any mass produced, third world country built gauges here. These
gauges are build right here in our own factory and are crafted with the same
precision as you have come to expect with our data recorders. Each gauge is
sealed in a sonic welded housing to protect its mechanism from the elements
we know they will see. The nylon/plastic housing and lexan lens cover are
styled to compliment any type of installation from racecar to street machine.
Lightweight
If
weight is your concern, and we know it always is, then look no further. In
spite of their rugged construction these gauges still only tip the scales
at a feather weight 49 grams.
Compact
Limited
for space? We have you covered there too. The total depth of an Intelli-Gauge
is just 2.135”, and only 1.675” of that protrudes behind the front surface
of the dash.
Lit
‘Em If You Got ‘Em
These
gauges feature a unique radial lighting system that is exclusive to Intelli-Gauges.
This lighting provides a halo of soft light across the face of the gauge,
and it does it without creating the annoying bright spot that is present at
the edge of the face on other radial-lit gauges.
