HOT TACH PRO GAUGE

 

The Hot Tach series of gauges are much like our Avenger series. They were designed for a specific market; jet skis in this case, and consists of three different versions. Unlike the Avengers, the looks of the gauges are all quite similar, with only the functions they perform determining their differences. The Hot Tach gauge has since found it’s way into applications other than the personal watercraft market.

 

Hot Tach Pro

 

The Hot Tach Pro is the performance king of the Hot Tach line. It incorporates all the functions of the Hot Tach II and III, and then builds from there.

 

Like the other gauges in this series the Hot Tach Pro monitors engine RPM. Unlike the other two it offers the options of monitoring a second RPM, such as a jackshaft or driveshaft. You will understand the value of this as you continue to read.

 

Hot Tach Pro’s have the capability to monitor up to four exhaust gas temperature channels. Additionally, these gauges can be ordered with a configuration that allows a mixture of EGT and analog channels. For example you could monitor 3 EGT’s and a water temperature, or 2 EGT’s and 2 pressure sensors. The thermocouples, and sensors and wiring harness for the analog channels, must be ordered separately.

 

This gauge allows you to establish warning levels on all monitored channels. When any channel exceeds it’s limit the gauge will illuminate a warning light.

 

With the ability to monitor up to six channels of information the screen could get rather busy trying to display everything at once. The HTP lets you display only one function at a time by scrolling from channel to channel, either by pressing the scroll button on the gauge, or with a remote thumb switch. Keeping track of the condition of your PWC at speed becomes easy.

 

Like the other Hot Tachs, the Pro can perform recall and playback on the gauge’s scree(Kits includes gauge, Power/RPM wiring harness, termination kit, & remote switch)n. Recording time for playback can vary from 5 1/2 minutes to 18 hours depending on which of the twelve sample speed rates you choose. Sample rates up to 40 times per second are available. Also incorporated is a pause feature that temporarily halts the recording when the engine RPM dips below a predetermined speed, then resumes as soon as the RPM rises again.

 

Possibly the greatest feature of the Hot Tach Pro is the ability to upload the recorded data to a PC or laptop for analysis. By purchasing the Download Kit, which includes an optic adapter and the renowned DataLink Lite data analysis software, you can display all recorded data on your computer screen in graph and numeric format. This will allow you to track your tuning changes in relationship to both engine RPM and a time line.

 

All Hot Tach gauges are 12 volt DC powered and are backlit for nighttime operation.
