| It
has been our experience that the majority of the problems that a user
encounters with a Racepak data system is related either to installation
or unfamiliarity with the recorder or software. Other than damage inflicted
through a crash or fire, the units themselves are extremely trouble free.
With that in mind we would like to offer these handy tips when it appears
that you may need to ship anything to Racepak for service or repair. Call First We often find that problems that many would like to believe is due to a faulty component is in reality the result of improper installation or unfamiliarity with their recorder. For that reason we suggest you always call and discuss your problem before sending any components back to Racepak. On many occasions we are able to talk you through a solution to your problem over the telephone, thereby avoiding the time and cost of shipping. If something must still be shipped to Racepak make sure you know who you spoke to on the phone. This will help you during any follow up calls that may be required. Package Your Shipments Properly If it does become necessary for you to ship any component to Racepak please make sure that it is packaged properly. You wouldn’t believe how poorly some items are packed that are returned to us. This carelessness often results in damage during transit. We also encourage you to insure your shipment for the full replacement value should they become lost in transit. Identify Your Shipment The first rule of shipping something is to make sure your package is properly identified. Using the address below should insure that it reaches us. Equally as important is to also have your own name and address on the outside of the box. Often we receive packages that are shipped from postal outlets, with only their name and address on the box, leaving us with no clue as to the true sender. These shipments are set aside until the owner calls and identifies themselves. This can cause a considerable delay in resolving your problem. It is also very important that you include a note inside the package stating the reason for the shipment. Even if you have previously spoken to one of our staff on the telephone, this is a necessity. Due to the lapse in time between the call and the arrival of the shipment, and the number of people we have working on the telephones and the shipping and service departments, do not rely on your phone call to serve this purpose. Your note should clearly spell out the reason for the shipment (“Here is the stuff we talked about” or “Doesn’t work” isn’t a clear explanation), and your name, address, and daytime phone number should be included. Urgent Shipments Most racers need their parts ‘yesterday’. Racepak makes every effort to handle that request. If you fit into this category please help us help you. First you should get your shipment to us as quickly as possible. Then let us know the deadline for it’s return. We will choose a return shipping method accordingly. Please be fair in your request so we can try to honor as many of these emergencies as possible. Shipping Address Please use this address on all shipment to us: Racepak / CSI 30402 Esperanza Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. 92688 USA |
