Dave, below is an explanation of our software levels,

THREE VERSIONS OF DATALINK

In order to satisfy the varied requirements of DataLink users, Racepak has created our software in three levels. Each version contains the features of the one it supersedes, while allowing the user access to a greater selections of tools and customizable features.

DATALINK LITE: This is the basic version of DataLink that is contained with every V-Series recorder kit. DataLink Lite gives you the ability to upload recorded data from your onboard recorder to a laptop or desktop PC and view the data on the computer’s screen in both numeric and graph format. With the V Series recorders and DataLink you also have the ability to view information monitored by your recorder in real time on the computer screen. In addition to the features noted above, DataLink Lite provides two channels to display clutch and transmission slip curves when the appropriate sensors are installed in your onboard system. Multiple files can be overlaid simultaneously on the screen for comparison purposes. A generic logbook page is provided for each run file. The graph screen contains a timeline across the bottom giving a reference point for all recorded events.

DATALINK STANDARD: This version adds full math channel support. The math channels provide the ability to create additional channels that display information that is derived from the combination of other collected or known data. For instance, you can create channels that display total wheel or driveshaft turns, shock rate data in inches per second, or if you have a G-meter, you can integrate speed and distance traveled. The combinations are endless.

Included with the Standard version is our video package. Racepak has devised a method for integrating synchronized video with the data that is acquired from our onboard recorders. The optional video images are displayed on the screen of the monitor along with the standard numeric and graph displays. This new technology provides racers with the ability to combine the visual images captured by a remote camera with the information gained from onboard data acquisition. Racepak’s interactive DataLink software allows you to compare the vehicle’s monitored functions with a synchronized visual image to gain a better understanding of exactly how the car is performing. Racepak’s video capture process provides a smooth fluid picture with sharp detail. The results of combining the collected data with a detailed, stop-action video has already been responsible for producing a number of exciting new technical revelations.

DATALINK PRO: Adds full access to the Racers Logbook area of the software. The user can define custom run log pages including calculation spreadsheets, x-y plots, histograms, gauges, and much more.
