Hi,

I have the black G2x with a 5V sensor cable 230-VM-AN-5V. What happens if the input exceeds 5v, maybe up to 12v?

Will is just stop recording at 5v?

Thanks
Rob

What type of sensor are you utilizing?

Thanks

Hi Tim,

It's a speed sensor on a motorcycle. I haven't tested it yet but I'm assuming it will go from 0 to 12v.

Sorry, I should clarify. As it's a speed sensor on a sprocket it will probably be a square wave but I think the max value will probably be 12v.

In general it I want to use the above cable for sensing a digital signal, will it work ok as anything above 5v will be treated as 'on'?

And if I'm reading an analogue value will it only work only up to 5v?

Thanks
Rob

That particular module would not be able to correctly utilize the output from the rpm sensor...it is designed to input a linear 0-5V signal.

Thanks
