Firstly,

I have purchased a G2x data logger for use on my Caterham (1.6 Ford Sigma engine). I'm very pleased with the purchase & the results have been good but I wanted to record RPM and gear info and so purchased the GNR pickup.

I need some help please in establishing correct pickup point around the coil pack live feed. I have 3 wires going to the connector (see image):

1. Cylinders 1 & 4
2. 12v
3. Cylinders 2 & 3

I have connected to the 12v feed, but the display continues to display "0" RPM.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Neil

Neil,

Continue moving the GMR to the other wires, until you establish a tach signal. It will not hurt the GMR or the data logger if you connect to the incorrect wire. Sometimes it takes a few tries to establish the correct wire. Even if the pulse per revolution setting is incorrect, once you locate the correct wire, you will get some type of tach signal.

Thanks,
Tim
