I'm sure this is listed somewhere obvious, but I can't find it for some reason - what's the maximum number of analog channels that can be plugged to the 'aux' input on an old black G2X?

Can we daisy chain more than one USM?

On the old Black boxes the max number of channels that you can add is 12. So in that case you may add up to 3 USM boxes. Hope this helps. Take care.

Yes, both the black housing and red housing G2X are 12 external sensor inputs. Hope this clears up the confusion.

Do the usm's use all 4 inputs to 4 vnet channels?
Just had a look at my system and it adds upto10,I was thinking about adding some more sensors

Is there any way to get more than 12?

Yes, all four inputs are VNet channels. You should be able to input at least 16 channels on the G2X.
