IQ3 Dash

Adding Sensors to the IQ3 Logger Dash

The IQ3 Logger Dash utilizes the same canbus (Vnet) sensor technology as all of Racepak’s Vnet data loggers. This technology allows all of the sensor data to be transmitted down a single cable, back to the dash. What this means to the customer is Racepak’s extensive inventory of sensors, Vnet cables and even Intelli-Gauges can be utilized by the IQ3 logger dash. These sensors can be found at www.racepak.com or www.g2extreme.com.

This technology greatly reduces the installation time, weight and wiring mass typical of most data systems. In keep with the design of the IQ3, a single cable is routed through the vehicle, picking up sensors along with way. Sensors can be mounted in any order and in any location. Another benefit of this exclusive Racepak technology is the plug and play features of the sensors.

An exciting addition to the IQ3, in terms of sensor usage, is the USM sensor module. This 4 sensor input module allows the IQ3 customer to utilize their own sensors, or the 0-5V inputs from certain ECU systems with the IQ3. Each of the four sensor inputs can be defined by the user as rpm/analog/resistive temperature. The module housing contains an O ring lid and water resistant cable strain reliefs for use in severe environments. Sensors cables are connected to the internal PC board of the module via a terminal strip type connector. Each of the four terminal strip inputs are provided with a shield/ground/signal/5V/12V connection.
