SPLIT COLLAR ASSEMBLY

A Split Collar Assembly is used in conjunction with an RPM sensor to collect information about the driveshaft RPM. The collar contains two magnets, located 180 degrees apart, and it is bolted around the rear end yoke as shown below. The sensor is positioned directly above the collar to record the passing of each magnet.

Racepak will need to know the diameter of the rear end yoke, where the split collar is located, so we may provide you with a collar having the proper inside diameter to fit your yoke. The split collar will be positioned behind the flange for the U-joint (or coupler) and directly in front of the pinion seal. It will require a flat mounting surface approximately 3/8 of an inch wide.
